Tune Into Yo La Tengo On WFMU

By Andy Kahn Mar 13, 2015 7:45 am PDT

Among the top (and few remaining) freeform radio station in the U.S., if not the world, WFMU is currently in the midst of its annual on-air fundraising marathon. The Jersey City, New Jersey based independent radio station receives the majority of its annual funding through donations made during the marathon. Once again, Yo La Tengo will be on air to play requested cover songs in exchange for pledges, appearing on Todd-o-phonic Todd’s program Saturday, March 14 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Those wishing to pledge and submit a cover song request to the trio from Hoboken prior to Saturday’s performance can do so via this link.  The performance will be lived streamed at wfmu.org but it won’t be archived for later viewing. The WFMU marathon runs through Sunday, March 22.

For a taste of what Saturday’s performance might resemble, stream below YLT’s 2006 album, Yo La Tengo Is Murdering The Classics, which included 30 cover songs performed during past WFMU marathon pledge drives.
