Harmonic trio Trousdale shared a new single, “Secondhand Smoke.” The track is set for the group’s upcoming album, Growing Pains, due out on April 11.

The new single follows Trousdale’s previously released Growing Pains previews “Want Me Back,” “Over and Over” and the title track. Trousdale — Quinn D’Andrea, Lauren Jones and Georgia Greene — co-produced Growing Pains with John Mark Nelson (Suki Waterhouse, Shaboozey). Press materials detailed Growing Pains:

The trio utilized a live rhythm section on this record resulting in a more cohesive and tighter sound than they’ve ever had before. As good as Trousdale sounds when they lean into their gold-hued pop, the group work their country flair into the material more masterfully than ever before. Across 12 remarkable and relatable tracks, Growing Pains points a finger at the weight of life and offers a light at the end of the tunnel.

“Secondhand Smoke” is the fourth and final advance single from the album. Trousdale’s Quinn D’Andrea provided some insight into the song:

“‘Secondhand Smoke’ is a song that dives into the emotional weight of being in an abusive relationship and the devastating push-and-pull it creates,” D’Andrea said. “For us, this song is about loving someone who is battling their own destructive traits—traits that are slowly harming not just them, but also you.

“The metaphor of secondhand smoke reflects how their pain and actions seep into your life, leaving you as collateral damage. It’s a song about wrestling with the impossible decision to leave someone you love in order to save yourself, even though it feels like abandonment. Ultimately, it’s about facing the hard truth that you can’t save someone who won’t save themselves—and the courage it takes to walk away from the fire before it consumes you both.”
