Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio will make his Tanglewood debut when he teams with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops next year. The concert at the famed venue in Massachusetts’ Berkshire Hills will be held on June 20, 2020.

Collaborating with Trey has long been on Boston Pops conductor Keith Lockhart’s radar. In 2009, Lockhart gave an interview to the Orlando Sentinel in which he noted Anastasio was on his wish list. Keith said he considers Trey one of the “intensely creative people” whose music aligns well with that of the Boston Pops Orchestra. Lockhart mentioned Trey again the following year while chatting with the Boston Globe’s Jeff Jacoby. Anastasio last played an orchestral show way back on September 29, 2017.

Anastasio and the orchestra will perform on the stage of Tanglewood’s Koussevitzky Music Shed as part of the venue’s Popular Music Series. Tickets for the show go on sale February 9 via the venue’s website.
