Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Join Trey Anastasio Band At Lockn’

Trey Anastasio Band headlined Lockn’ festival in Arrington, Virginia on Friday night where they would welcome guitarist Derek Trucks for the entire second set and the encore, including an acoustic portion with just Trey and Trucks. Susan Tedeschi would also join the band for a pair of songs toward the end of the second set.

Trey got things going with “Cayman Review” followed by a number TAB classics including “Mozambique,” “Alive Again,” “Night Speaks To A Woman” and “Simple Twist Up Dave.” Trey mentioned the first set would be short because he wanted to play with Trucks, and the band closed out the opening set with “Tuesday” from 2005’s Shine.

With Trucks in tow, TAB kicked off the second set with “Set Your Soul Free” and “Everything’s Right” followed by a trio of Phish songs in “Camel Walk,” “Ghost” and “Blaze On.” “Dark And Down” came ahead of “Sand” before the band welcomed Tedeschi on lead vocals for Ghosts Of The Forest tune “Life Beyond The Dream.” She and Trey would then trade vocal duties on “Rise Up/Come Together.” TAB closed out the second set with “Push On Til The Day.”

Trey re-emerged with Trucks for the acoustic portion of the encore. The guitar duo performed GOTF’s “Brief Time” and Phish’s “More.” The band then joined Trey and Trucks for “46 Days” before bringing the evening to a close with “First Tube.”
