Trey Anastasio Band’s James Casey, Jennifer Hartswick and Natalie Cressman remotely recorded a cover of Take 6’s “A Quiet Place” with guitarist Ian Faquini. Casey shared video of the performance that was recorded for IGE Music & Art Immersion.
Casey noted he was in Hawaii when the session took place. The TAB saxophonist, who confirmed a colon cancer diagnosis earlier this year, spent time during the COVID-19 pandemic on the island of Kauai.
Casey went without his saxophone, Hartswick without her trumpet and Cressman without her trombone on their recording of “A Quiet Place.” Showing off their impressive vocals and harmonies, the TAB members and Faquini (a frequent Cressman collaborator) delivered a gorgeous version of the song that Take 6 recorded for the gospel group’s 1988 self-titled debut album.
