Ever since 2014 instrumental quintet Toubab Krewe has made just a handful of festival appearances as the band took a well deserved break from the road. The touring hiatus will soon come to a close with news Toubab Krewe will play 16 shows between mid-August and mid-November.
Toubab Krewe are returning to the road in anticipation of their fourth studio album which is due in early 2018. Drew Heller (guitar), Justin Perkins (kora/kamelngoni), Luke Quaranta (percussion), Terrence Houston (drums) and Justin Kimmel (bass) begin the tour with a pair of August festival appearances at SlyFest in Sherman, New York and at Salmon Arm Roots & Blues Festival in British Columbia. A series of September dates include a performance at Utopia Fest in Texas as well as a pre-party in Austin, a concert in Houston and show in New Orleans.
The Northeast will get its first taste of Toubab Krewe in years this October. Up first is a show at Brooklyn Bowl in New York City on the 11th followed by visits to Burlington, Boston, Worcester and Raleigh. Toubab Krewe are currently scheduled to end the tour with a series of four shows in Florida between November 8 in Jacksonville and November 11 in Ybor City.
