Tortoise Shares ‘Rock On’ Cover From Upcoming New Album

Chicago instrumental act Tortoise will issue The Catastrophist – their first album since 2009 – on January 22 via the Thrill Jockey record label. Today the band has shared another of the 11 tracks making up the new LP, a cover of “Rock On” by David Essex.
In advance of its official release, the band announced an free stream of The Catastrophist starting January 15 via The Guardian. Featuring vocals from Todd Rittman, listen the cover of the 1970s radio hit “Rock On” followed by the previously shared album track “Gesceap” below:
