A few days back Tool guitarist Adam Jones shared a photo (pointed out by CoS) that made many of the band’s fans very happy. The image seems to depict the members of Tool in the studio recording the group’s first album since 2006’s 10,000 Days.

It’s hard to believe that more than eight years have past since the last Tool album, but the band’s fifth LP has been held up by numerous delays including a legal battle. Loudwire notes the inclusion of singer Maynard James Keenan is notable because “historically (he) does not join in on the process until a substantial amount of work has already been done.” So we may not be too far away from the release of a new Tool album, but we’re not holding our breath.
