Tool Dusts Off ‘The Pot’ For First Time Since 2012

By Scott Bernstein Jun 8, 2017 8:04 am PDT

Rockers Tool continued a North American Tour on Wednesday night at the DTE Energy Music Theatre near Detroit in Michigan. The show was a homecoming of sorts for frontman Maynard James Keenan who was raised in the Michigan town of Scottville. While Tool has stuck to a similar setlist at each stop of the tour, there was one big exception last night.

Tool’s last studio album was 2006’s 10,000 Days. One of the standout songs from the LP was “The Pot,” which was released as a single and topped Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart. “The Pot” was a staple of the group’s sets in 2006 and 2007, but was performed rarely thereafter before disappearing for good after a performance on January 21, 2012. Last night Tool dusted off “The Pot” as part of their extended encore.
