Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Welcome Stevie Nicks In London

By Scott Bernstein Jul 11, 2017 8:03 am PDT

Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers made a brief trip to London for the lone European performance of their 40th Anniversary Tour on Sunday night. Petty and his band played a set as part of this year’s British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park, where they were joined by an old friend for a tour debut.

In the middle of their set, the Heartbreakers welcomed Stevie Nicks to the stage for the tour’s first version of “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around.” Nicks recorded the song, which was written by Petty and Heartbreakers’ guitarist Mike Campbell, for her 1981 album Bella Donna. Tom sang with Stevie on the original version as well as the live take from London.
