Tom Hamilton Guests With Greensky Bluegrass

By Scott Bernstein Nov 8, 2015 1:35 pm PST

Greensky Bluegrass brought a three-night stand at Wonder Ballroom in Portland, Oregon to a close last night. The band showed off the breadth of its repertoire over six lengthy sets that included a full performance of 2008’s Five Interstates on Thursday night, plenty of covers and a handful of guest spots.

The Michigan natives had guest spots in store each night. On Thursday, Billy Strings sat-in on a cover of Jimmy Martin’s “Freeborn Man,” while Friday saw Los Lobos saxphonist Steve Berlin help out on “Don’t Lie” and a cover of “Atlantic City” by Bruce Springsteen. Last night’s finale saw American Babies/Joe Russo’s Almost Dead guitarist Tommy Hamilton contribute to covers of both “Luckiest Man” by The Wood Brothers and Norton Buffalo’s “Ain’t No Bread In The Breadbox.” Fruition’s Jay Cobb Anderson added vocals to “Demons” later the night.
