Thunderpussy stopped by KEXP studios in their native Seattle to perform for the listener-supported radio station’s Live on KEXP series. The rockers offered songs off their 2024 album West for the May 2 performance.
West arrived on May 10 just days after Thunderpussy captured their KEXP play. Josh Evans produced the record at Studio Litho in Seattle.

Thunderpussy — vocalist Molly Sides, guitarist Whitney Petty, bassist Leah Julius and drummer Michelle Nuno — brought a string quartet with them for their KEXP performance: violinists Andrew Joslyn and Alina To, violist Christopher Foerstel and cellist Eli Weinberger. Joslyn and Weinberger provided string arrangements for West.
The rockers kicked off their session with the LP’s opening track, “I Can Do Better” followed by “Put Your Hands On Me.” The band then went “unplugged” for West’s title track before rocking out once again on “N.E.D.”
