Renowned bassist Thundercat returned to The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Wednesday. Thundercat was joined by pianist Jon Batiste, the leader of the program’s house band, as well as a drummer and keyboardist for a performance of “Dragonball Durag.”

“Dragonball Durag” appears on Thundercat’s 2020 studio album, It Is What It Is. The artist born Stephen Lee Bruner wrote the song with Steven Ellison (Flying Lotus) who served as the LP’s executive producer with Thundercat. The 15-track album, Thundercat’s fourth, won the Best Progressive R&B Album Grammy earlier this year.
