Three Wounded At Red Rocks After Concert
There’s tragic news out of Colorado as three people were shot in the parking lot of iconic Morrison venue Red Rocks Amphitheatre last night after a Feed The Rocks concert featuring Nas, Flying Lotus, Schoolboy Q and other acts. The Denver News reports that as of press time no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. The victims, who were shot in a white SUV, drove into Denver following the incident, where they were transported to a nearby hospital after coming to a stop in the city.

After the shooting took place, the venue was locked down. No one was allowed in and out of the venue while police searched vehicles looking for the shooter. 9News reports that the last car was finally allowed to leave Red Rocks around 3 a.m. The status of the victims has not been detailed at this time, though officials have stated that they are alive.

“We do not believe this is a random shooting into a crowd,” Jefferson County Sheriff spokesperson Mark Techmeyer said at a press conference. “We don’t know what the motive would have been for the shooter or what the connection is with the victims.”

Pitchfork notes that one of the evening’s performers, rapper Schoolboy Q, was photographed in handcuffs after the incident, though again, police say no arrests have been made.

Update 12 p.m. PT: It turns out performer Schoolboy Q was in the SUV that was fired upon in the Red Rocks parking lot. The rapper, who’s real name is Quincy Matthew Hanley, was not injured. According to the Denver Post, Schoolboy Q was handcuffed as his vehicle did not stop for police after the incident. He was not arrested and is not a suspect.
