Thom Yorke Appears On ‘Colbert’

By Nate Todd Oct 2, 2019 10:37 am PDT

Thom Yorke gave a rare interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Tuesday. The Radiohead frontman chatted with Colbert about Brexit in his native UK, the importance of dreaming and also talked about how dreaming and sleep influenced his 2019 album, Anima.

Anima is Thom Yorke’s third solo album and follows his work on the soundtrack to the Luca Guadagnino-directed film Suspiria. While Yorke drew inspiration from electronic artists like Flying Lotus for Anima as well as from feelings of anxiety and dystopian themes, he also incorporated his interest in dreaming into the album. The LP arrived with a Paul Thomas Anderson-directed short film on Netflix.
