This Is The Kit Announces New Album ‘Ghost Coat’ & 2027 Tour Dates

This Is The Kit will release a new album, Ghost Coat, on January 15, through Memphis Industries. The Paris-based group, led by Kate Stables, previewed the record with the single “Skim a Stone” and confirmed tour dates in support of the pending record.

Ghost Coat came together during sessions held at Rockfield Studios in Wales, the facility where The Stone Roses, Motörhead, Queen, Oasis and others also made significant recordings. The album follows 2023’s Careful of Your Keepers and sees Stables’ accompanied by longtime bandmates, Rozi Plain on bass and keyboards, Neil Smith on guitar, Jamie Whitby-Coles on drums and keyboards and Jesse D. Vernon on guitar and keyboards.

Additional contributions came from Richard Dawson, Sam Amidon, Ben Howard, Emma Broughton (Blumi) and sibling guitarists Valentin Portron and Marceau Portron of Portron Portron Lopez.

“I hope listeners come away with a sense of shared experience,” Stables said. “I’m someone who is prone to disappearing into a sort of burrow, and it’s hard to know how to get out of the burrow. It’s important that we continue to interact with each other. It’s all about feeling a sense of community with other human beings out there.”

This Is The Kit will tour extensively next year across Europe and North America. Tickets for the newly announced headline tour dates go on sale on Friday, September 25 at 10 a.m. local time.
