The Who selected rarely seen footage from their July 2006 performance at the Piazza Grande in Locarno, Switzerland for the finale of their Join Together @ Home series. The webcasts will take place over two weekends on September 5 and 12 beginning at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT.
Saturday, September 5 will see the airing of five songs from the Locarno show, which came as part of the Moon And Stars Festival. The second Saturday will feature four songs. The Locarno show is notable as containing one of only two live versions of “Greyhound Girl,” as per UDiscoverMusic. The Pete Townshend sung song appeared on The Who’s 2006 album Endless Wire but dates back to Townshend’s abandoned Lifehouse effort in the early 1970s.

Roger Daltrey remembers the concert being memorable all around. “It’s a very special show,” the frontman said, “I didn’t even remember this film existed! We were getting together after a 3-year hiatus. The show was in an extraordinary place, in the town square, with people dancing on their balconies. I have very fond memories of it.”
The Join Together @ Home finale will benefit — as its predecessors have — the Teenage Cancer Trust and Teen Cancer America. Head here for more info on how to donate.
