The Mars Volta have been changing drummers more frequently than heads on tour change underwear. First it was Jon Theodore replaced by Blake Fleming. Then we had Deantoni Parks at Vegoose, and now it appears we have a new skin master to stare at, mouth agape.

While there has been no official announcement, the new drummer for The Mars Volta is rumored to be drumming prodigy Thomas Pridgen. Pridgen is the youngest drummer ever to be sponsored by Zildjian Cymbals (10 years old), he’s toured with Dennis Chambers conducting drum clinics, and did we mention The Volta want him?

Confirmation from the band is expected soon. On the Volta’s MySpace page they have Pridgen listed as an official band member:

Band Members:
Omar A Rodriguez-Lopez
Cedric Bixler Zavala
Juan Alderete
Isaiah Ikey Owens
Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez
Adrian Terrazas
Pablo Hinojos-Gonzalez
Thomas Pridgen

The following video should answer any and all questions in regards to Pridgen’s talent.
