On August 7, in conjunction with HBO Documentary Films, NY-based independent label Young American, will release the soundtrack from the award-winning HBO film, The Trials of Darryl Hunt. Besides Paul Brill’s soundtrack work, the album features a roster of popular indie rockers like Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Portastatic, and Andrew Bird as well as hip-hop artists Dalek, Ras Krass, the Last Poets, and Dead Prez.

This powerful documentary tells the incredible story of Darryl Hunt, a black man who spent twenty years in prison after being wrongly accused of killing a white woman. The film began airing worldwide this April on HBO. It will be followed by a theatrical release this June/July, and a THINKFilm DVD release soon thereafter.
All net proceeds from the sale of this soundtrack will be donated to the Darryl Hunt Foundation, which works to protect wrongly convicted individuals.
