The String Cheese Incident selected their April 14, 2017 concert at Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater in Austin, Texas for the next Friday Night Cheese airing at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT tomorrow on the JamBase Livestreams Calendar. The show contained a number of bust outs including covers from Willie Nelson, The Doors as well as a tune from a Texas pedal steel legend.

SCI kicks things off with “Believe” followed by the Kyle Hollingsworth penned, latter-day Cheese rarity, “Got What He Wanted.” “GWHW” then headed into The Doors’ “LA Woman.” The band has only played the 1971 Doors classic eight times total since debuting it in 1999 and the Stubb’s 2017 play marked the first time the song graced the setlist in more than two years as well as the penultimate performance of the song so far, as per Phantasy Tour.

“LA Woman” then headed into an even bigger bust out in temporal terms, “Remington Ride,” by the late great pedal steel ace Herb Remington who played with the legendary Texas band Bob Wills And The Texas Playboys. The 2017 Stubb’s performance saw Cheese playing the song for the first time in more than five years. The show also includes the rarity “Pirates” as well as a monster “Texas” second set closer that encompasses a nod to hometown hero Willie Nelson with “Whiskey River,” first time played by SCI in almost four years and just the fourth time played overall at the time with only one of those plays happening outside of Austin.

The String Cheese Incident has a long and storied history with Stubb’s, making their debut there in 1996. The band also plans to show rare bonus footage from that debut after the 2017 show. Check out the link below to tune in to Friday Night Cheese:
