The String Cheese Incident Begin Fall Tour

Last night, The String Cheese Incident kicked off an extensive Fall Tour with the first of two shows at the Skyway Theatre in Minneapolis. The 13-show tour concludes with SCI’s headlining appearance at Suwannee Hulaween in Live Oak, Florida October 30 – November 1.

The String Cheese Incident began the evening and tour with a cover of Vassar Clements’ “Lonesome Fiddle Blues.” A run of staples “Little Hands,” “So Far From Home” and “Mouna Bowa” came next. One of the newer songs in the band’s repertoire, “Sweet Spot,” followed before “Let’s Go Outside” and Michael Kang’s “Beautiful” brought the first set of the tour to a close.

“Valley Of The Jig” opened the second set and led into “Got What He Wanted” and “Black Clouds.” Next up was “Hotel Window” followed by the Song In My Head gem “Can’t Wait Another Day.” Oldie “Rhythm Of The Road” gave way to another recently debuted number, “Stop Drop Roll.” After “Just One Story” ended the second set, SCI’s encore saw them cover a bit of The Doobie Brothers’ “Taking It To The Streets” on a lark before launching into “Freedom Jazz Dance” by Eddie Harris and concluding with the traditional “Sittin On Top Of The World.”
