The Roots Announce Roots Picnic Virtual Experience Hosted By Michelle Obama

The Roots will take the 13th annual Roots Picnic online due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. The Roots teamed with former First Lady Michelle Obama and the When We All Vote organization to present the virtual event taking place on Saturday, June 27.

The Roots had announced the lineup for the Roots Picnic 2020 which was to have been held on May 30 at The Mann Center at Fairmount Park in Philadelphia. The musical lineup for the virtual Roots Picnic includes H.E.R., Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, SZA, Kirk Franklin, Snoh Aalegra, D-Nice, Polo G, G Herbo, Musiq Soulchild and Earthgang. The YouTube livestream will also feature appearances by Michelle Obama, Janelle Monáe, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kerry Washington, Tom Hanks, Liza Koshy, Chris Paul, Elaine Welteroth, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Deon Cole Coach K, Wallo267, Ghetto Gastro and more.
