The New Mastersounds and Lamar Williams Jr. released a new single, “Less Is More,” via Color Red. The song also arrived with a quarantine video.

“Less Is More” features Williams Jr. — the son of late Allman Brothers Band bassist Lamar Williams — on vocals backed up by The New Mastersounds: guitarist Eddie Roberts (who produced the track), keyboardist Joe Tatton, bassist Pete Shand and drummer Simon Allen along with a horn section. The song bubbled up from a conversation Williams Jr. had with Tatton ahead of The New Mastersounds’ performance at the 2019 New Orleans Jazz Fest.

“Tune into your reality and realize less is more,” Lamar said in a statement. “Tune into your family and what’s around you and be grateful for simplicity. These aren’t deep lyrics—they’re not drawn out. While writing this song, I realized that I don’t need everything and my brother’s right here with me. We’re just knocking this out.”
