The New Mastersounds shared the second edition in their A Brighter Day singles series via Color Red. Composed by NMS guitarist and Color Red founder Eddie Roberts, the track features lyrics and vocals by Adryon de Leon.
De León has been a member of Los Angeles-based soul outfit Orgōne since 2013 and is also a Color Red artist. Adryon penned the lyrics to the Eddie Roberts composition in late 2020 and teamed up with NMS — Roberts, drummer Simon Allen, bassist Pete Shand and keyboardist Joe Tatton — to record the track.

The Color Red website further detailed the song:
De Leon wrote the lyrics during the height of the winter wave of COVID-19 shut downs in 2020 and imagined a bright, sunny day surrounded by loved ones. “A Brighter Day” also serves as a reminder to check in on even the strongest people in your lives as it was a dark, and lonely time in our world’s history. The end result is in the style of School House Rock meets Minnie Ripperton and will have listeners truly reveling in the brighter days that have been cast upon us.
