The National Covers Frightened Rabbit With Lauren Mayberry In Glasgow

The National covered Frightened Rabbit on Monday night in Glasgow, Scotland. The rain-soaked performance of “My Backwards Walk” at Kelvingrove Bandstand featured Glasgow native Lauren Mayberry of CHVRCHES on additional vocals.

Glasgow-based Frightened Rabbit recorded “My Backwards Walk” for the 2007 album The Midnight Organ Fight. The band dissolved following the death of founder Scott Hutchison in May 2018.

Mayberry emerged in the middle of The National’s set to add vocals to “I Need My Girl” and remained onstage with fellow vocalists This Is The Kit (Kate Stables) and Mina Tindle (Pauline de Lassus) for the Frightened Rabbit cover. Watch audience-shot video of the collaborations below:
