CANADIAN INDIE ROCKERS UNVEIL NEW ALBUM DETAILS

The Luyas are set to release their album Too Beautiful To Work, out February 22. The new record is the long-awaited follow- up to 2007’s Faker Death.

Mining the vast musical resources of their hometown of Montreal, The Luyas weave beguiling dream pop using an artistic edge and a unique blend of instrumentation. Over a locked down rhythm section of organ and drums, Piet Amato (formerly of Arcade Fire) gets mad scientist on the French Horn, running it through a bevy of effects, adding both atmospherics, and lead sounds from his mighty horn. Meanwhile, lead singer Jessie Stein sings in her unique and sincere vocal style while playing both electric guitar and a Moodswinger. The Moodswinger is a 12-string experimental zither with a third bridge. There are only about a dozen Moodswingers that exist in the world, you can read more about the instrument here. Take a look at the video for “Tiny Head” off the new album below.
