‘No Obligation’: The Linda Lindas Tease New Album With ‘Reality-Altering’ Music Video

The Linda Lindas announced a new album, No Obligation, arriving on October 11 via Epitaph. The band also shared the single, “All In My Head,” along with a music video.

No Obligation follows The Linda Lindas’ — Lucia de la Garza, Eloise Wong, Mila de la Garza and Bela Salazar — 2022 debut album, Growing Up. With three of the members still in school, the band found time to write and record No Obligation on spring breaks, winter breaks and long weekends.

Press materials described No Obligation as advancing The Linda Lindas’ “unironic, joyful, and exciting trajectory of mashing up L.A. punk with post punk, garage rock, power pop, new wave and rock en español.”

The band’s latest single, “All In My Head,” follows two previously released tracks off the new record: “Too Many Things” and “Revolution / Resolution.” Lucia de la Garza drew inspiration for “All In My Head” from a book she read on tour last summer, My Year of Rest And Relaxation.

“[‘All In My Head’] has the most indie vibes we’ve leaned into so far because it was written on an acoustic guitar,” Lucia said of the song. “Recording it was really fun, full of lots of dancing in the studio. I wrote ‘All In My Head,’ from the perspective of a book character, which kinda brought us out of our comfort zone. It felt like a break from reality, which we don’t usually find ourselves writing about.”
