The Kinks shared a new version of their 1974 classic “Money Talks,” freshly remixed by the legendary British band’s Ray Davies. The “Money Talks (2023 Mix)” is set to land on the upcoming second installment in the group’s The Journey anthology series, due out on November 17 via BMG.

The Journey series arrives in celebration of The Kinks 60th anniversary. The rockers shared The Journey – Part 1 earlier this year and recently previewed Part 2 with a previously unreleased live version of “Everybody’s a Star (Starmaker)” from London in 1975.

The Kinks have now released an updated version of 1974’s “Money Talks.” Primary songwriter Ray Davies remixed the Preservation Act 2 cut with Matt Jaggar at Konk Studios in London. Ray noted that the rowdy rocker speaks of “Moral decline.”

Drummer Mick Avory recalled the song in the live setting. “I have memories of playing this song on the US tours in the 70s,” he said. It’s a good old stomper for the stage.”

“Money Talks (2023 Mix)” arrived with a video featuring lyrics and photos of the band from the era. Watch below:
