The Fray Announce 1st Full Album In 12 Years ‘A Light That Waits’ & 2026 Summer Tour Dates

The Fray confirmed their first full-length album since 2014, A Light That Waits, arriving on March 13. The band also announced the Summer of Light Tour 2026 with Dashboard Confessional, Colony House, The Strumbellas and Brother Elsey supporting on select dates.

Produced by Jason Suwito, Ryan Linvill and The Fray, A Light That Waits is the band’s first LP since 2014’s Helios and first full-length collection since the departure of frontman Isaac Slade in 2022. Now a trio, The Fray are Joe King, Ben Wysocki and Dave Welsh.

King, who has taken over lead vocal duties after Slade’s departure, detailed the creative process behind A Light That Waits.

“This was the first moment where the three of us were writing from scratch,” King said. “We were in Ben’s studio in Denver, just trying to discover something… All of a sudden, it was clear: this is a light that waits. But it took us being in the room, listening to ourselves and to one another, to really find the song. And that’s what’s beautiful about being a band.”

The fourth preview of A Light That Waits — following previously released singles “My Heart’s a Crowded Room,” “Emerald” and “Songs I’d Rather Not Sing” — is the title track. Listen below:

The Fray will embark on the Summer Of Light Tour around their new album on May 11 in Moncton, New Brunswick. Among the stops are Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, Kansas City, Minnesota, Los Angeles, San Diego, Austin, Atlanta and Boston before wrapping up on August 29 in Chicago.

Following various presales, tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, January 30 at 10 a.m. local.
