Just as they did with the advent of the compact disc and digital downloads, The Beatles waited to see how the formative years of music streaming went before sharing their catalog. We’ve reached that point as on Christmas Eve nine major streaming platforms will finally start to host The Beatles’ catalog.
Spotify, Apple Music, Slacker, Tidal, Microsoft’s Groove, Rhapsody, Deezer, Google Play and Amazon Prime will all host 224 Beatles songs starting at 12:01 a.m. on Christmas Eve. The roll out will take place at 12:01 a.m. local time, so those in Australia and New Zealand can already rock out to the tunes of the legendary act. As per Rolling Stone, each U.K. album the band put out will be available as well as both Past Masters volumes, Yellow Submarine and greatest hits compilations The Beatles 1962 – 1966, The Beatles 1967 – 1970 and 1.
Check out The Beatles’ website for a particularly cool view of where the band’s catalog is available that will expand to the whole globe within 24 hours.
