The Avett Brothers appeared on Adult Swim’s Fishcenter Live program. Scott Avett and Seth Avett delivered a couple of songs and also sat down for an interview.
For the musical portion of the program, The Avetts — framed by the show’s trademark fish tank background — played Seth’s “C-Sections & Railway Trestles” from the band’s 2019 album, Closer Than Together. The Avetts, including bassist Bob Crawford, also sat down for a remote interview where Scott fielded a question from Ned, who is in charge of Fishcenter’s fish tank and is a huge Avett Bros fan. Ned wanted to know about Scott’s painting and Scott talks about going to art school at East Carolina University. The Avetts then discussed their upcoming Drive-In style show and more.

Scott also led the trio on a tune from their 2006 album Four Thieves Gone: The Robbinsville Sessions in “Denouncing November Blue (Uneasy Writer).” The parenthetical refers to Scott’s realization that their song “Denouncing November Blue” sounded exactly like Charlie Daniels’ “Uneasy Writer” and inspired the LP title, Four Thieves Gone, as per Paste Magazine.
