Tenacious D Teams With Colorado Symphony At Red Rocks

Tenacious D brought their tour in support of 2018’s Post-Apocalypto to the scenic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on Thursday. The D was backed by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra for a special night on the Rocks.

Jack Black and Kyle Gass along with bassist John Spiker, guitarist John Konesky and drummer Scott Seiver teamed with the orchestra for a 23-song performance last night. First, the band and the Colorado Symphony played 10 tracks from Post-Apocalypto with clips from the D’s YouTube video series interspersed throughout.

The second part of the evening was loaded with Tenacious D classics starting with “Rize Of The Fenix” and ending with an extended “Double Team” that included introductions of the band members of certain members of the orchestra. Along the way, the ensemble tackled such beloved numbers as “Roadie,” “Wonderboy,” “Kielbasa” and “Tribute.” For the encore, Tenacious D and the Colorado Symphony performed “Making Love” off Post-Apocalypto and “Fuck Her Gently” from the band’s self-titled 2001 debut studio LP.
