Televised Tune | Jake Clemons To Sit In With The Roots

Thanksgiving Week is always an extremely light week for music on TV as most late night shows are in re-runs. With that in mind we’ll provide three highlights worth watching rather than our usual listings.

Late Night With Jimmy Fallon holds a special place in saxophonist Jake Clemons’ heart. The E Street Band member made his public debut as a member of Bruce Springsteen’s group early in 2012 during the show’s Bruce Springsteen Week. It’s been nearly two years since he first stepped into his uncle Clarence’s spot and he’s since become an indispensable member of the band. Jake returns to the place it all started tonight when he sits in with Fallon house band The Roots. [Monday, NBC 12:35AM ET]

Arsenio Hall returned to late night earlier this year with the uncreatively-titled The Arsensio Hall Show, which airs in syndication across the country. This Tuesday JamBase favorites Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue make their Arsenio debut. [Tuesday, Syndicated -Check Local Listings)

The great Sharon Jones has sure picked a big stage to make her triumphant return this Thursday, as she’ll perform with The Dap-Kings on a float during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in NYC. Jones & The Dap-Kings will share some of their favorite tunes as well as a few new ones over the course of the parade. NBC airs the parade nationwide with Jones listed as one of the acts expected to be broadcast. [Thursday, NBC 9AM ET]
