Tedeschi Trucks Band Welcome Guests In Texas
By Scott Bernstein Sep 25, 2017 • 12:32 pm PDT
The Tedeschi Trucks Band concluded a sweep through Texas on Friday night in Dallas and Saturday night in Austin. Guests joined the group for portions of both shows including members of opening act Hard Working Americans.
On Friday, the TTB and HWA played Music Hall At Fair Park in Dallas. Hard Working Americans’ multi-instrumentalist Jesse Aycock added guitar to covers of the traditional “Leavin’ Trunk” and Rahsaan Roland Kirk’s “Volunteered Slavery” as per Jambands.com’s report. Later in the night the HWA’s Todd Snider and Dave Schools sat-in on the encore, a cover of “Sweet Virginia” by The Rolling Stones.
Then, on Saturday, at Austin’s Moody Theatre, the band brought out old friend Jimmie Vaughan to show off his legendary guitar skills on a version of Allen Toussaint’s “Get Out Of My Life, Woman.” At the end of the show the TTB and HWA including brothers Derek Trucks and Duane Trucks filled the stage for a rousing rendition of Bobby “Blue” Bland’s “Turn On Your Love Light.” Next up for the Tedeschi Trucks Band is their annual residency at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.
