Tedeschi Trucks Band Taking 3-Month Break From Touring

The Tedeschi Trucks Band will start 2020 with a busy January and February but then the group will take the next three months off. Susan Tedeschi revealed the news of the unusual break in the band’s touring schedule during an interview with The Arts Fuse.

Tedeschi’s chat comes ahead of the TTB’s final shows of 2019, which will take place this Thursday, December 5 through Sunday, December 7. Susan explained that while the 12-piece doesn’t have any concerts planned for March, April and May, the band will once again headline their Wheels Of Soul tour over the summer. The break will be the longest hiatus from the road since the TTB’s first few years. 2019 has been a year of big change for the group, as Gabe Dixon joined on keys in the wake of Kofi Burbridge’s death and bassist Brandon Boone came aboard after Tim Lefebvre left the TTB.

“Next year it’ll be ten years for this band,” Susan said of the TTB’s upcoming anniversary. “It doesn’t feel like ten years, but I look back and our kids were little when this started. They were just 7 and 5. That’s wild to think, ‘How did that happen?’” Head here to read the full feature.
