Tedeschi Trucks Band Including Blackstar Bassist Honor David Bowie

The Tedeschi Trucks Band lineup currently features the immensely talented Tim Lefebvre who played bass on every song of David Bowie’s farewell album Blackstar. Lefebvre considers Bowie “the greatest musician (he’s) ever heard” and shared a few thoughts on the recently passed performer with Rolling Stone. Yesterday, the Tedeschi Trucks Band took the stage to headline the first of two Sunshine Music Festival in Florida, where the group including Lefebvre honored with the debut of a David Bowie cover.
Susan Tedeschi led the band on a soulful rendition of Bowie’s The Rise & Fall Of Ziggy Stardust gem “It Ain’t Easy” to end the TTB’s performance at Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg, Florida. David Bowie never performed “It Ain’t Easy” live and it’s the only song on the legendary album Bowie didn’t write himself. The set also saw the legendary Jerry Douglas emerge to add to a cover of Derek & The Dominos’ “Keep On Growing.” Tedeschi made the rounds by sitting in with fellow Sunshine Fest performers Indigo Girls on “Closer To Fine.”
