Tedeschi Trucks Band kicked off their 2024 Fall Tour in Macon, Georgia on Saturday, a co-bill with Gov’t Mule. The bands, including former guitarists Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks, swapped sit-ins during both sets of the concert in the city ABB called home.
Trucks and Susan Tedeschi came on with Gov’t Mule to help them close their set. The collaboration began with “Desdemona,” an Allman Brothers song written by Haynes and Gregg Allman. Trucks and Haynes broke out the tune on TTB and Mule’s joint run in August. The collab continued with Gov’t Mule cut “Rocking Horse” and the Warren Haynes-penned ABB classic “Soulshine.”

The team-ups continued to close TTB’s set, where Warren Haynes came on with the group on “Pasaquan,” a standout Trucks instrumental on the band’s 2022 LP, I Am The Moon. TTB and Haynes sealed the show “With A Little Help From My Friends.”

The collaborations between the bands weren’t the only sit-ins. Gov’t Mule welcomed legend George Porter Jr. on bass for Prince‘s “When Doves Cry,” Mule’s “Beautifully Broken” and Meter’s classic “Just Kissed My Baby.”
A sit-in of a different kind took place during TTB’s set when Trucks played Duane Allman’s storied ’57 Les Paul Goldtop for a trio of tunes. Listen to the full Tedeschi Trucks Band set:
