Tedeschi Trucks Band Debut ‘Across 110th Street’ With Cesar Rosas In Michigan

On Sunday night, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Los Lobos and North Mississippi Allstars continued the Wheels Of Soul Tour at Freedom Hill Amphitheatre. The tour has featured interesting collaborations at every stop and the visit to Sterling Heights, Michigan was no exception.

The Tedeschi Trucks Band headlined the action at the Detroit area venue. NMAS guitarist Luther Dickinson was the group’s first guest as he emerged for “I Want More” early in the set. Later in the night, Los Lobos guitarist Cesar Rosas came out to lead the TTB through “Across 110th Street.” Sunday was the first time the Tedeschi Trucks Band had covered the Bobby Womack classic. Womack released the song as the title track for the soundtrack of the 1972 crime drama of the same name. He scored a hit with the tune which reached No. 19 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart. The TTB said farewell with a couple of covers that served as the encore: “Keep On Growing” (Derek & The Dominos) and “You Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere” (Bob Dylan).
