Tedeschi Trucks Band Plays Acoustic Mini-Set In Boston

Tedeschi Trucks Band delivered a mini-acoustic set at the Orpheum Theatre on Friday. Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi led the band in an electric set and followed it with an acoustic one full of blues classics before plugging back in for a third set.

The acoustic section got underway with The Derek Trucks Band tune “Back Where I Started” with Kebbi Williams making his flute debut. The Willie Dixon blues “Keep Your Lamps Trimmed & Burning” followed ahead of another blues song by Roosevelt Sykes, “44 Blues.” Up next, the Derek And The Dominos number “I Am Yours.” The acoustic group then delivered a song by Howlin’ Wolf, styled as “Meet Me At The Bottom.”

The electric portion of the show kicked off with “Laugh About It” and also contained favorites “The Letter,” John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery,” the Grateful Dead’s “Sugaree,” James Taylor’s “Fire & Rain” — led by Marc Rivers — and TTB’s “Bound For Glory” among others. Listen to the entire show tapped by Bob Hundertmark and check out video of the acoustic set and more captured by Sean Roche and Jamey Klein below:
