Umphrey’s McGee concluded a brief run through Texas last night with their fifth annual April appearance at Stubb’s BBQ in Austin. The band made it through a rain storm that brought an early end to the first set and delivered a second set that included a pair of guest spots.

After torrential rains enveloped the outdoor venue during “Hurt Bird Bath” the band vacated the stage approximately 40 minutes into the show. Once the storm passed, UM returned to the stage along with openers The Soul Rebels for a cover of Snoop Dogg’s “Ain’t No Fun (If the Homies Can’t Have None).” Umphrey’s last performed the classic rap song on November 1, 2013 -a span of 155 shows. Later in the set, UM was joined by American Idol winner Taylor Hicks on harmonica and vocals for Marshall Tucker Band’s “Can’t You See.”
Umphrey’s McGee returns to the road for a three-night stand at First Avenue in Minneapolis starting on Thursday evening.
