Long Island-birthed instrumental quartet TAUK will issue the full-length Shapeshifter II: Outbreak studio album on September 28. Today, the band shared the prog-tinged single “CMF 9000” from the forthcoming LP.
“This one started with me,” drummer Isaac Teel told PopMatters. “This track reminded me of the Fugees, but once I brought it to the band, it expanded to something beyond what I could even conceptualize. I hear everything from Led Zeppelin to Dr. Dre in it.”

The follow-up to early-2018’s Shapeshifter I: Construct was recorded with long-time producer Robert Carranza at the same sessions that yielded the EP. Teel, bassist Charlie Dolan, keyboardist Alric “A.C.” Carter and guitarist Matt Jalbert laid down the material for both the EP and LP at a century-old home described as the “Jumanji house meets Addams Family meets Amityville Horror.”
