TAUK and Kanika Moore released their debut original single, “STFU.” The track arrived with an accompanying in-studio music video directed and produced by Dani Barbieri.

While “STFU” marks Doom Flamingo frontwoman Kanika Moore and rock fusion quartet TAUK’s first original single, the collaborators released a video for their cover of the Björk’s “Army of Me.” Like their take on the Björk classic, “STFU” features a dynamic performance from TAUK and a powerhouse vocal from Moore.

Kanika convened with TAUK in January 2022 at their Oyster Bay studio on Long Island to work on a number of songs the quartet cooked up with her in mind. She stayed at keyboardist Alric “A.C.” Carter’s house where “at the time, there was a 3-year-old upstairs who decided to run, stomp, and make as much noise as possible… way too early in the morning,” as per press materials for the new single.

“‘STFU’ is about wanting to control a powerful force,” Kanika said. “A child ‘stomping over me’ was a literal description of what was happening while I was writing the song. I wanted them to turn into a great horned owl; swift and quiet but still strong.”
