The Tallest Man On Earth Covers Adele On Swedish Quiz Show

Back in late-December, Swedish singer-songwriter Kristian Matsson, who you may know better as his recording moniker The Tallest Man on Earth appeared on a quiz show in his native country called På Spåret. As per Stereogum, Matsson’s appearance found the singer performing a gorgeous version of Adele’s “When We Were Young,” while backed by the Swedish pop group Augustifamiljen.

Matsson is no stranger to the art of the cover song having recently posted takes on tunes by Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake as part of his The Light In Demos series on YouTube. Matteson’s take the track from the British soul singer’s 2015 mega-selling album 25 has a bit less bombast than the original, turning it more into a plaintive soul ballad.
