All four original members of Talking Heads — David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz and Jerry Harrison — will reunite for a Q&A on their groundbreaking 1984 concert film, Stop Making Sense, directed by the late Jonathan Demme. The Q&A hosted by Spike Lee will take place on September 11 at the Toronto International Film Festival.
A restored 4K edition of Stop Making Sense — which was recently acquired by A24 — is set to premiere at TIFF and will be livestreamed into IMAX theatres around the world. After the screening and as part of the livestream, Byrne, Weymouth, Frantz and Harrison will come together for the Q&A.

Talking Heads went their separate ways in 1991 but reunited to perform for their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2002, their first live performance since 1984 — the same year Stop Making Sense came out. While the members of Talking Heads haven’t always been on amicable terms, they are set to revisit the film with Spike Lee — who directed David Byrne’s 2020 concert film American Utopia — in September. A live album, Stop Making Sense (Deluxe Edition), is also set to arrive on August 18.
