Sunday Cinema | Grateful Dead New Year’s 80-81

Last month we told you about an amazing documentary focusing on the Grateful Dead’s December 31, 1980 show that was available on the Music Vault YouTube channel. Since that time performance footage of the entire three-set gala has been shared on Music Vault.

For the first set, the Dead treated attendees to a rare acoustic set just months after their successful Radio City and Warfield runs, which incorporated electric and acoustic performances. The acoustic set was followed by two power-packed electric sets well worth watching on this Father’s Day.
