Sufjan Stevens Releases 10-Minute Single ‘My Rajneesh’

Sufjan Stevens unveiled “My Rajneesh,” the B-side from his forthcoming “America” single. The “America”/”My Rajneesh” 12-inch vinyl is due out on July 31.

Unlike “America,” the new song will not be included on Stevens’ forthcoming The Ascension LP. “My Rajneesh” comes along with artwork prepped by Stephen Halker featuring an illustrated portrait of Bhagwan Shri Rajneesh. The Rajneesh and his followers took over a huge piece of land in Oregon dubbed “Rajneeshpuram” between 1981 and 1988. the 2018 Netflix documentary Wild Wild Country tells the tale of the controversial Rajneesh (also known as “Osho”) including the incorporation and collapse of Rajneeshpuram.
