Sturgill Simpson Performs On ‘Conan’ & Plays New Album At KCRW

Country musician Sturgill Simpson appeared as musical guest on last night’s episode of Conan on TBS. He and his band played a song from the singer-songwriter’s recently released concept album A Sailor’s Guide To Earth, which they recently played in its entirety for KCRW.
Forgoing an instrument, Simpson solely delivered lead vocals on a performance of the new LP’s track “Oh Sarah” for the Conan audience. The song was originally recorded by Simpson’s previous band Sunday Valley and issued on their 2011 album To The Wind And On To Heaven. Watch the performance of “Oh Sarah” here:

The set featured Simpson’s live debut performance of the songs on A Sailor’s Guide To Earth, which he played completely from start to finish.
