Sturgill Simpson, Drive-By Truckers & Margo Price Among Americana Music Awards Nominees

Yesterday the Americana Music Association revealed the list of nominees for the 2017 edition of the Americana Honors & Awards, during a live-streamed special that was hosted by folk duo the Milk Carton Kids.

Outlaw country star Sturgill Simpson garnered the most nominations, a total of three, for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for A Sailor’s Guide to Earth and Song of the Year for “All Around You.” Other nominees, who will compete across six categories, include the Drive-By Truckers, Margo Price, Jason Isbell, Hurray for the Riff Raff and The Lumineers – check out the full list below.

The 16th annual Americana Honors & Awards show is set to take place on September 13 at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, and serves as the centerpiece of the annual AmericanaFest, which runs from September 12 through 17.
