Sturgill Simpson Covers Nirvana On ‘The Daily Show’

Last night, country musician Sturgill Simpson was the guest on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show. Simpson and his band performed a pair of songs from his just released new LP A Sailor’s Guide To Earth, including a cover of a Nirvana song.

The lone non-original featured on A Sailor’s Guide To Earth , Simpson recorded “In Bloom” as part of the superb concept album inspired by the birth of his son. He performed his rendition of the Nevermind track sans-guitar, but picked up his electric for the episode-closing performance of “Call To Arms.”
