STS9 premiered their Artifacts Red Rocks documentary today via YouTube just ahead of their run at the iconic Colorado venue this weekend. The NOCOAST film contains footage from the livetronica band’s 20th anniversary celebration at in 2017 and more.

With roots in both California and Georgia, Colorado and its famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre have also been historically important locales for STS9. Sound Tribe Sector 9 debuted at RRX on September 6, 2003, opening for The String Cheese Incident. They would quickly step up to a headlining, multiple-night act in the next few years. Since then, Tribe has delivered dozens of memorable shows at the venue.

In 2005, STS9 released their landmark album, Artifact. The band, however, would not perform the LP live in its entirety until their 20th anniversary celebration at Red Rocks in September 2017. That performance and the band’s reflection on their history as well as their history with Red Rocks is the subject of the new film.
